Associate Director: My Hidden City, Mrauk U Film

In the heart of the mystical Rakhine State in western Myanmar lay the ancient city of Mrauk U, shrouded in the mists of time and brimming with stories untold. For centuries, its intricately carved temples, pagodas, and fortress walls stood as silent witnesses to the grandeur of Rakhine empire. Yet, it remained hidden from the world, a forgotten gem awaiting its chance to shine.

Some Rakhine national business owners & visionary producers, Myanmar director Wunna Kyaw and American filmmaker Barry Pousman, embarked on a journey to unveil the secrets of Mrauk U in a documentary film titled "My Hidden City." With a shared passion for cultural preservation and a desire to bring the city's legacy to global attention, the producers & directors collaborated across cultures and continents to create a masterpiece that would transcend boundaries.

Accompanying the film was a transcendent score, a harmonious collaboration between world-renowned pianist Kimball Gallagher and Rakhine's maestro composer Win Ko Khine. The music breathed life into the stone-carved stories, each note echoing the city's soul.

The film's impact was felt far beyond the screen, global communities are recognizing the documentary's role in unveiling Mrauk U's cultural significance, sought to honor the city as a UNESCO world heritage site. "My Hidden City" became a catalyst for change, not only for Mrauk U but also for the broader appreciation of heritage across the globe.
